i work for a texas impound lot. the lot is pretty big so we use golf carts to escort customers to their vehicles. while waiting for an escort a customer sat in one of the golf carts and hit my parked car. i made a claim with my job but they denied it saying that the customer was at fault. would her auto insurance cover the damage?
wasnt me that left key in it. she walked thru a gate that said "do not enter" to get to the golf cart.
Answer: Wow, what to say about the mentality of "don't leave the key in as there's always a retarded waiting to get into it and drive off and if he does it is your fault and not his"..
it's a very sad state of affairs when people say that.
Personally I would FIGHT for my rights with every ounce of strength and would SUE her for the damage she caused me, because SHE CAUSED IT and SHE should be held RESPONSIBLE for her actions.
Does Auto Insurance Cover The Damage Caused To The Car While Your Car Was Towed ?
Question by coolams | Posted in Insurance & Registration
My car was recently towed. I found scratch marks and an attempted breakin to my car. Have scratches and dents on both doors, which I believe are done by the towing company. So if I file a claim will my insurance company cover these damages ?
Thanks !
Answer: If the damage occurred while your vehicle was in the care of the tow company, they are liable for the damages. Have you spoken to them about it? Are they denying responsibility?
Your own comprehensive coverage would cover the cost, but you would still have your deductible to consider. It may not be worth the rate rise to have your company handle it unless it will be expensive to repair.
You could take the tow company to small claims court, but it may be difficult to prove they are at fault.
When you do speak to the tow company. Speak calmly and confidently. If they are refusing to compensate you, you could say, matter of factly, that you don't
How Is The Best Way To Become An Auto-damage Appraiser For An Insurance Company?
Question by Rick L | Posted in Insurance
How would I go about becoming an auto damage appraiser considering that no college is required? SHOULD I take some college classes or what exactly should I do?
Answer: College is only not required when you have years of body shop experience - usually many years as a body shop manager.
Unless you have job experience - such as years as a body shop manager- a college degree will be required.
Back in the day, you could get a job as an insurance adjuster w/o a college degree. That is no longer the case. Every company I know of requires a 4 year degree. The exception is the material damage appraisers who have years of body shop experience.
